Evance came to The Hope Centre in 2011 at age 9 along with his three siblings - Moline, Ambrose, and Rose. They had all been staying with their older brother Samuel whom they still visit while on holiday from school. Evance enjoys helping with the animals, weeding in the shamba (garden) and helping with household chores. Evance says that his favorite thing about living at The Hope Centre is that all his basic needs are provided for - food, shelter, and clothing. He says that there is a sense of security here at The Hope Centre. Now in Form 3 (junior year) at age 17, Evance is serving as School President at The Carter Education Centre. Evance loves that The CEC provides all students with their own textbooks in great condition. His best friend at The CEC is Nicholas and his best friend at THC is George. After Form 4 (senior year), Evance wants to become an agriculture engineer to work on tractors and combines. He hopes to attend Egerton University in Nakuru, Kenya.
