Maxwell came to The Hope Centre in 2013 at age 9 with his younger brother Ostein. Before coming to THC, they were living with their shosho (grandmother) and 8 other children - four boys and four girls, a mix of aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings - all in the grandmother’s care. She was having a difficult time providing food and basic needs for so many children - and so - Maxwell and Ostein came to live at The Hope Centre. Sadly, their Shosho passed away in 2018 - so now, they visit with their aunt on school holidays where Maxwell helps wash utensils, clean the house, and help in the shamba (garden) with corn and potatoes. At THC, Maxwell’s favorite things to do are read, play football (soccer), and run with his best friends Vincent and Kevin - and of course, his brother Ostein. Now in Class 8 at age 15, Maxwell enjoys English, Science, and Math. He also loves to play with his best friend at school who is also named Maxwell.
