Edna is one of the most recent additions to The Hope Centre, arriving in the summer of 2018. She is currently in Class 2. Edna is from the Maasai Tribe, unlike majority of the children at The Hope Centre who are from the Luo Tribe. Because of this, there is a small language barrier between her and the other children. Edna says that her favorite subject in school is Swahili because it is helping her learn how to communicate with her new piers. Edna came to The Hope Centre with her sister, Lydia, but still has one sister and one brother living with her grandmother. During holiday, Edna stays with her grandma and is so happy to be reunited with her siblings that are not at The Hope Centre. While she is on holiday, her grandmother tells her stories about the future. Edna loves to read, dance and jump on the trampoline at The Hope Centre. Her favorite food is rice. When Edna grows up, she dreams of becoming a pilot. When asked what she is most thankful for, Edna says, “I am most thankful for school”.
